Lúpus é uma doença autoimune crônica que pode afetar diversas partes do corpo, incluindo pele, articulações, rins, cérebro e outros órgãos. O sistema imunológico, que normalmente protege o corpo contra infecções. Os avanços nas técnicas laboratoriais e imagiológicas, aliados a uma compreensão mais profunda dos mecanismos imunológicos subjacentes ao lúpus, têm contribuído significativamente para o aprimoramento do diagnóstico e do manejo dessa doença complexa. A literatura atual destaca a importância de um diagnóstico precoce e preciso, que permita intervenções terapêuticas oportunas, com o objetivo de reduzir as complicações e melhorar os desfechos clínicos a longo prazo para os pacientes com lúpus. As implicações terapêuticas envolvem um equilíbrio cuidadoso entre a eficácia e a segurança dos tratamentos, enquanto a análise crítica dos desfechos clínicos e da qualidade de vida sublinha a necessidade de um enfoque holístico no manejo do LES. As diferenças nos regimes de tratamento e monitoramento indicam a importância de estratégias personalizadas e multidisciplinares para melhorar os resultados e a qualidade de vida dos pacientes com lúpus.
